Member Services/Loans Officer Needed
Contract Terms: Permanent full time position, with flexibility for the right candidate to choose working hours between 28 and 35 per week; working Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings.
Job Purpose/Primary Objectives
The Member Services / Loans Officer will be accountable to the Manager/Assistant Manager of the credit union for carrying out a range of administrative, operational and lending activities that contribute to the effective running of the credit union and providing quality services to the members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting members with their account management, onboarding new members, assisting members with credit control queries and any other queries they may have.
- Providing members with a courteous, pleasant and professional service; online, in the office, or over the phone.
- Processing loan applications and granting loans to members in accordance with lending policy and procedures. Operating within specified limits of authority and working closely with the CEO and other lending officers.
- Understand and comply with relevant credit union policies and procedures, including Anti-Money Laundering and Data Protection requirements.
- Back office administrative and operational duties as the needs of the office require.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union, branch banking or similar financial institution preferable.
- Minimum 1 year experience in loans assessment and decisioning
- QFA/APA/CUA preferable, or willing to work towards qualifications
- Good administration skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
